Bosch Hoek Golf and Country Estate
Kwazulu-Natal

Less than half a century ago, the 400 hectares on which the course and housing development now stand formed part of the greater Bosch Hoek Farm, owned by the legendary Punch Barlow. The late Mr Barlow, who would later become one of the prime motivators behind the establishment of the River Club in Johannesburg, decided to build this course in the early 1960’s, and in 1963 the first drive was struck. Bob Grimsdell, already then an acclaimed course architect, was commissioned to work his magic in converting the maize fields into what is today a superb golfing facility. The course was then strictly private and remained so for more than 30 years. Thankfully, this is no longer the case since 1990 the present owner Peter Gallo launched Bosh Hoek Golf and Country Estate and the housing development came into being. The club now welcomes visitors and there could hardly be a better venue for corporate golf days.
