Considering its surroundings, its lush green fairways and greens have surprised many a visitor to this arid region. Sishen's par 72, 18-hole course is currently rated in the top 20 best golf courses in South Africa and is truly a hidden gem. The course is host to the annual Kalahari Classic, the 2nd stop on the winter leg of the Vodacom Southern African Tour. The club also hosts the 72-hole Griqualand West Open each year, one of the more prestigious events on the Amateur calendar.
The Course: The course is 6450 metres in length and has a rating of 72. Water comes into play on the 6th, 9th and 18th holes with the magnificent Camelthorn ready to ensnare any stray shots.
Club Facilities: Driving range, practice tee and halfway house. The golf club is part of a sporting and recreation club, with the main clubhouse and its restaurant situated only about 150 metres away from the golf course. Tennis, squash, bowls and a swimming pool are available at the main club.
